Venezianico Redentore Bronzo pairs a hand-aged brass dial with a 40 mm bronze case and a brown leather strap brushed to echo the weathered finish.
Each QAl9-4 bronze case is cast in a mold and finished by hand. The alloy recalls Venice’s long history of metalworking and the Horses of St. Mark, the ancient sculptures brought to the city in the 13th century. Their image is engraved on the 316L stainless steel back, where sandblasted and radial satin finishes define the figures.
The dial undergoes its own aging process. A brass disc is polished, satin-finished, and bronzed before targeted abrasions reveal parts of the underlying metal. The result is a textured, weathered surface already present when the watch is made, while the exterior bronze case continues to develop a patina with wear.
The brown Italian leather strap is also aged and brushed to echo the dial’s worn appearance. It fastens with a pin buckle. The steel back, secured by six screws, separates the bronze from the wrist.
A Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement supplies hours, minutes, and seconds without a date. The bronze case measures 40 mm across, 46.7 mm from lug to lug, and 10 mm thick, with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, push-pull crown, and 5 atm water resistance. Redentore takes its name and architectural proportions from Palladio’s Venetian basilica.
Andrea Palladio’s Renaissance church on Venice’s Giudecca gives the collection its name. The balance of its architectural forms inspired the proportions of the watch case.
Oxidation gradually changes the bronze’s tone and surface. Moisture, handling, and exposure affect how the patina develops, so each case ages differently rather than following a fixed color or schedule.
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale makes it highly resistant to everyday scratches. It can still be scratched by harder materials, and a hard impact can chip or crack it, especially at an edge.
Miyota, part of the Citizen group, manufactures the 9039 in Japan. This 9-series automatic runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and also allows hand winding. Venezianico uses it in a watch made in Italy.
