Vostok Europe Object X sets a luminous X and four tritium blocks against blue aventurine, with a blue PVD case and a red-tinted view of its movement.
Object X refers to an unidentified celestial body. The design follows that idea through blue aventurine scattered with glittering inclusions, a large luminous X, and four tritium blocks. A glossy black ceramic ring sits in the fixed bezel, giving the sparkling dial a dark border against the blue PVD case.
The view changes on the back, where red-tinted glass reveals the Japanese TMI NH35 automatic movement. It drives the hour, minute, and seconds hands and the date, with approximately 41 hours of running time from a full wind. The back screws into the 316L stainless steel case, which measures 48 mm across and 16 mm thick.
A domed K1 crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the dial. Two silicone straps continue the color scheme: one is red, while the other is fully luminous and glows blue in the dark after exposure to light. Both measure 24 mm at the lugs and close with buckles.
The set is supplied in a VE Flat Box. Water resistance is rated at 20 atm, and production is limited to 1,000 watches.
The name refers to an unidentified celestial body. The design expresses that idea through glittering blue aventurine, a large luminous X, and four tritium blocks arranged across the dial.
Tritium gas activates a luminous coating inside sealed glass blocks, so they glow continuously without a battery or prior light exposure. The Swiss Trigalight elements are made by mb-microtec, which has supplied Vostok Europe since 2009. The glow gradually fades as the tritium decays.
K1 is reinforced mineral glass chosen for impact resistance. Sapphire is harder and more resistant to scratches, so the two materials have different strengths. The anti-reflective coating on this watch’s K1 crystal reduces glare.
The 48 mm diameter describes the width of the case. Its 58.2 mm lug-to-lug measurement runs in the other direction, from the tip of one lug to the tip of the opposite lug. That longer measurement describes how far the case extends along the wrist, which the diameter alone does not show.
Vostok Europe assembles the watch in Vilnius, Lithuania, using a Japanese movement from Time Module Inc. (TMI). Founded in August 2003, the company began using Japanese movements in 2010 and stopped importing Russian movements in 2014.
No. Tritium activates a luminous coating continuously without prior light exposure. The fully luminous silicone strap must absorb light before glowing blue in the dark. The red silicone strap is the other strap included in the set.
