The Visconti Dreaming Starry Night fountain pen recreates Van Gogh’s swirling sky in sculpted silver, with enamel applied by hand over the raised surface.
Lost-wax casting gives the silver barrel and cap the ridges and swirls of Van Gogh’s impasto brushwork. The raised surface echoes the thick oil paint and movement of The Starry Night, translating the night sky into sculpted metal.
Artisans apply enamel by hand over the micro-cast silver to recreate the painting’s vivid colors. A gold-plated clip completes the blue-toned design. Limited to 230 instruments, the edition continues Visconti’s Van Gogh tributes, which began in 2001.
The pen comes with a display stand shaped like a frame on an easel. Its canvas bears Van Gogh’s golden signature and a plaque with the Visconti logo and collection name, displaying the pen against a backdrop drawn from painting.
It has an 18k gold nib, uses a Power Filler for bottled ink, and closes with a screw-on cap.
Made in Italy, it measures 150 mm capped and has a barrel width of 18 mm. It weighs 136 g with the cap.
