Venezianico Nereide Verdigris develops its green-turquoise dial through controlled oxidation and heat, recalling the weathered metals of Venice.
Lagoon air, salt, and humidity gradually turn copper and brass architectural details green. The dial recreates that transformation on a brass base through controlled oxidation and flaming. Each surface reacts a little differently, developing an uneven texture with irregular shades of green, turquoise, and blue across the surface.
The color is a patina on brass rather than a slice of turquoise stone. Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova illuminates the hands and markers, while a polished tungsten insert gives the 120-click bezel a bright border. The turquoise rubber strap continues the dial’s color and closes with a pin buckle.
A Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement supplies hours, minutes, seconds, and the date. The 316L stainless steel case measures 42 mm across, 49 mm from lug to lug, and 12.5 mm thick, with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, and 20 atm water resistance.
The back is engraved with the Venetian-built Nereide submarine, the source of the collection’s name. Its maritime reference complements a dial inspired by the city’s domes, statues, and metalwork weathered by the lagoon.
It was the name of a submarine built in Venice between 1911 and 1913. The collection draws on that chapter of Venetian naval engineering for its maritime identity and rotating-bezel design.
No. Each brass surface reacts a little differently to controlled oxidation and flaming. The resulting green, turquoise, and blue tones vary in their distribution, giving each dial an individual patina before the watch is assembled.
The polished tungsten insert is highly scratch-resistant, helping it retain its finish during everyday wear. It is a separate component from the case and still needs protection from hard impacts.
Align the bezel’s reference marker with the minute hand at the start of an interval. As the hand advances, the scale shows elapsed minutes. With 120 clicks around a 60-minute scale, each click corresponds to half a minute. The bezel measures time independently of the movement.
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
No. It is brass treated by controlled oxidation and flaming to develop a green-turquoise patina. Its irregular colors come from the reaction of the metal, so each dial has a different pattern.
