Venezianico Arsenale Bizantino carries Byzantine geometric engraving from its 40 mm steel case onto every link of the Canova Concept™ bracelet.
Interlaced patterns drawn from Constantinople’s mosaics and architecture run across the case, bezel, and bracelet. The pattern continues from the case onto the articulated links, so the decoration follows the bracelet around the wrist. In Venice, Byzantine influences remain visible in the mosaics and architecture of St. Mark’s Basilica.
The anthracite-black dial provides a plain background for the surrounding engraving. Enamel over a brass base creates a reflective surface, with a sunburst finish beneath a smoky gradient that deepens toward the edge. Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova glows in low light after exposure to light. On the six-screw case back, engraved portraits of Emperor Justinian and Empress Theodora extend the Byzantine theme.
The 316L stainless steel case is 40 mm across, 44 mm from lug to lug, and 9.95 mm thick including the anti-reflective sapphire crystal. A Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement supplies hours, minutes, and seconds without a date. The crown screws down, and water resistance is rated at 5 atm.
The engraved Canova Concept™ steel bracelet follows the case’s integrated profile and closes with a folding clasp.
The name comes from the Arsenale, the Venetian Republic’s shipyard. Its specialized workshops and sequential assembly methods supported the fleet long before modern factories. That history of organized metalworking is the starting point for the collection’s contemporary case design.
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale makes it highly resistant to everyday scratches. It can still be scratched by harder materials, and a hard impact can chip or crack it, especially at an edge.
Miyota, part of the Citizen group, manufactures the 9039 in Japan. This 9-series automatic runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and also allows hand winding. Venezianico uses it in a watch made in Italy.
Yes. The geometric motifs appear on the case, bezel, and each Canova Concept™ bracelet link. The pattern follows the individual surfaces, while the back carries a separate image of Justinian and Theodora.
