Overview
U-Boat Darkmoon Soleil Red IPB brings a red sunray dial into an oil-filled 44 mm steel case, adding depth beneath domed sapphire.
Fine brushing radiates across the red dial, changing its reflections as the light moves. Seen through oil, the color appears deeper and the hands seem to sit closer to the domed sapphire above them. The combination gives this Soleil version its retro character, with Super-LumiNova on the hands and hour markers adding a luminous contrast in low light.
The oil also surrounds the Swiss Ronda 712.3 quartz movement, lubricating it as it runs. A visible compensation bubble moves through the fluid as the watch changes position, leaving room for the oil to expand or contract with temperature. The 44 mm case is made of 316L stainless steel with a black PVD finish. A screw-down crown with a double security system sits on the left for setting the time.
The screw-down back incorporates U-Boat’s Locking Ring System for quick access to the battery. Oil adjustment uses a separate opening reserved for U-Boat’s specialized technicians.
Made in Italy, this reference comes on a black silicone strap measuring 22 mm at the watch, with a stainless steel pin buckle. Water resistance is rated at 5 atm. U-Boat specifies an operating temperature range of 0–60 °C and advises against prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat.

What does the Soleil finish add to the dial?
Fine brushing spreads outward in a sunray pattern, changing how the red surface reflects light. Soleil is the finish, rather than a single color; the collection also includes blue, green, and brown dials.
Why does a bubble move across the dial?
The bubble is an intentional part of the oil-filled construction. It leaves room for the oil to change volume with temperature and moves as the watch changes position.
How are battery replacement and oil servicing handled?
The Locking Ring System provides a compartment for battery access. A separate opening is used for oil adjustment, which U-Boat reserves for its specialized technicians. Battery replacement should be handled by a service center.
