Overview
U-Boat Darkmoon Kama PVD Blue combines a sunray-finished metal dial with a photochromic filter that gradually darkens in sunlight.
Sunlight gradually darkens the smoked photochromic filter over the blue metal dial. Beneath it, sunray brushing catches the light in fine lines across the surface. The two effects change the dial in different ways: the brushing shifts its reflections as the light moves, while the filter changes how dark it appears.
The 46.5 mm case is made of 316L stainless steel with a black PVD finish. Inside, oil surrounds the dial and Swiss Ronda 762 quartz movement. Through the domed sapphire crystal, that oil bath gives the display the depth familiar from the Darkmoon collection. A compensation bubble accommodates changes in volume with temperature. The raised U-shaped hour marker and hands carry beige Super-LumiNova, and a screw-down crown sits on the left.
On the back, a laser-engraved QR code sits alongside the Locking Ring System for battery access. The case back is 316L stainless steel with black PVD treatment, matching the PVD-coated steel pin buckle on the black calfskin strap. Water resistance is rated at 5 atm; U-Boat specifies a temperature range of 0–60 °C when the watch is off your wrist.

What changes when the photochromic filter is exposed to sunlight?
The smoked filter gradually darkens, changing the appearance of the blue sunray-finished dial beneath it. The effect comes from the filter, separate from the oil inside the case.
Why does a bubble move across the dial?
The bubble is an intentional part of the oil-filled construction. It leaves room for the oil to change volume with temperature and moves as the watch changes position.
What does applied mean for the U-shaped marker?
The U-shaped hour marker is a separate raised element above the dial surface. It carries beige Super-LumiNova, adding relief to the dial as well as a luminous reference point.
