Pilot Custom 742 fountain pen brings black resin and gold PVD accents to a classic design, continuing the Custom family’s development since 1993.
The 742 arrived in 1993 as a development of the Custom 74, keeping the traditional black-and-gold appearance of the family. Its resin body and gold PVD trim frame a 14k gold nib with a smooth writing feel.
A screw-on cap closes the fountain pen. It accepts Pilot ink cartridges or a compatible converter for bottled ink, including the Pilot CON-70.
Made in Japan, it weighs 22 g capped.
It accepts Pilot IC-50 ink cartridges and is compatible with the Pilot CON-40 and CON-70 converters for bottled fountain pen ink.
Clean the resin exterior with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners.

Your order arrives brand new in its original Pilot packaging, with all official documentation and the Pilot warranty card, stamped and dated by us.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It doesn't cover normal wear and tear or accidental damage — and on watches, it doesn't cover straps, bracelets, or batteries.
