Overview

The Montblanc Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days LeGrand fountain pen recalls Fogg's journey in railway motifs and a balloon-engraved gold nib.

The final leg of Phileas Fogg and Passepartout's adventure takes them from Yokohama to London via the United States. A laser-engraved train, pressure valves, and locomotive smoke decorate the dark blue precious resin cap. The safety-chain motif on the cone recalls Passepartout uncoupling the train from its locomotive to save the crew during the attack in the novel.

Playing-card suits refer to Fogg's wager, while the red lacquer heart on the ruthenium-coated clip represents his union with Princess Aouda. An embossed timeline at the cap top records the 36-day return leg within the full 80-day journey.

The handcrafted 14k gold nib bears 14/11 and 21/12, marking the November 14 departure from Yokohama and planned December 21 return to the London club. A hot-air balloon honors Verne's first adventure novel, bringing a second story by the author into the design.

The fountain pen is made in Germany and has a screw-on cap. The barrel measures 146.1 mm long and 17.8 mm wide. It weighs 29.89 g with the cap.
