Overview

The Montblanc Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days Doué Classique fountain pen follows Fogg's journey in blue lacquer, engraved metal, and gold.

A laser-engraved train, pressure valves, and billowing smoke decorate the metal cap above a polished dark blue lacquer barrel. They depict the railway crossing through the United States on Phileas Fogg and Passepartout's return from Yokohama to London.

The safety chain on the cone recalls Passepartout uncoupling the train from its locomotive to save the crew during the attack in the novel. A red heart on the clip represents Fogg and Princess Aouda, while card suits refer to his wager. At the cap top, a timeline records the 36-day return leg within the 80-day journey.

The handcrafted 18k gold nib bears 14/11 and 21/12, marking the November 14 departure and planned December 21 return. A hot-air balloon refers to Verne's first adventure novel, adding another literary reference to the railway story on the cap.

The fountain pen is made in Germany and has a screw-on cap. Capped, it is 139.8 mm long and weighs 50.14 g, with a 14 mm barrel width.
