The Montblanc Homage to Pierre-Auguste Renoir 4810 fountain pen evokes his studio in olive wood, with paintlike marks and a clip shaped as two brushes.
Olive wood recalls the trees Renoir loved in his garden in southern France and depicted in his paintings. Paintlike marks suggest brushstrokes across the wood. The gold-coated clip forms two paintbrushes, recalling the tools Renoir used for broad passages and fine details.
Ultramarine precious resin surrounds the Montblanc emblem at the cap top. The year 1874 on the upper cap ring marks the first Impressionist exhibition. A folding fan with two tassels, an accessory found in many of his portraits, is engraved on the handcrafted 18k gold nib.
A sterling silver Ag 925 drawing point in the gold-coated cone allows for silverpoint sketches, a reference to Renoir's draftsmanship. This Masters of Art edition is limited to 4,810 units. The fountain pen closes with a screw-on cap and is made in Germany.
