The new LAMY Dialog CC features the same retractable system as usual, but in a new matt darkblue lacquer finish. The nib is activated by a unique twist movement, while the rosegold-plated clip prevents the pen from rolling off the table when not in use. This fountain pen is supplied with a converter and a pack of 10 blue ink cartridges, plus a beautiful leather case. Unboxing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5dGWKu22DE
This pen is well worth the money lamy has done it again with a savagely good pen the nib is very wet which I like but the nibs are soft enough to adjust yourself and the nib stays wet for quite sometime when housed in the body.

Bought as a present for my son. He was very pleased with the pen and loved the way it wrote.
Good, not excellent, pen, let down by the nib
I have been writing with fountains pens for many years, using a failry diverse set of pens/brands. I have used from XXF to Medium or even Broad, depending on the application. For most note taking and writing I tend to use EF or similar - there are very nice, smooth and thin Fines. But the EF I got with the Lamy Dialog CC was closer to a Medium - very, very disappointing. Even using Pelikan 4001 ink did not improve the line width much.
As for the pen itself, most of the time the mechanism to show or hide the nib works OK, but not all the time. I had a Chinese clone of a Dialog 3 that worked better - which I threw away because of other unrelated problems.
The Dialog CC is compact and solid enough to take anywhere and use everywhere, which is absolutely great. The weight and the texture adds to a feeling of quality.
So, I removed one star because of the nib and another one because the pen mechanism doesn't really remind me of the "German engineering".
Having said that I still like to use it a lot - but I will have to spend more money to buy a (custom) proper EF nib so that I don't feel cheated by the whole experience (which I already do due to the cost of the pen - at this price one would expect a better experience).
Thank you for your message.
