Bauhaus Aviation Tornado Automatic Watch with Black Dial.
The Aviation Tornado line is made under official license for the Tornado, the aircraft that first flew in 1974, as satin-finished pilot’s watches. The Tornado is the sports watch of the line, with a date window and a leather pilot strap, in a stainless steel case 40 mm in diameter and 11 mm thick.
The watch is powered by a Japanese Miyota 9015 automatic movement under a sapphire crystal, and a see-through case back reveals the rotor, which winds a 42-hour power reserve.
Luminous white numerals and indices mark the black dial, complemented by luminous hands. A black leather pilot strap, measuring 20 mm at the lugs, closes on a pin buckle.
Yes. The line is made under official license for the Tornado, and the aircraft’s name is printed on the dial.
In Ruhla, Thuringia, where precision parts have been made since 1862 and watches since 1892, and where the VEB Uhrenwerk Ruhla once built millions of watches. POINTtec, the family company founded in 1987 that designs every model in-house, assembles them in its own listed Bauhaus building of 1929, which is also home to the Ruhla watch museum. The movement is Japanese.
The case is rated to 10 bar, enough for swimming, and the leather strap sets the limit — water soaks into leather and breaks it down. Keep the watch to rain and hand-washing, and fit a rubber or metal strap of the same lug width before swimming.
A full wind delivers about a 42-hour power reserve. Daily wear keeps it wound, and after a longer rest about 15 turns of the crown restart it.
Sapphire sits at 9 on the Mohs scale and ranks among the most scratch-resistant materials in watchmaking, so few things encountered in normal wear will mark it. A violent knock can still crack it.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It doesn't cover normal wear and tear or accidental damage — and on watches, it doesn't cover straps, bracelets, or batteries.
