Venezianico Redentore 36 pairs a silver sunburst dial with an integrated Canova steel bracelet in polished and satin finishes.
A sunburst dial
Fine radial lines on the brass dial create the sunburst, so the reflection shifts as the watch moves. Rose gold-tone accents on the bezel, hands, markers, and bracelet center links contrast with the silver dial and bare steel. The gold color is a surface finish on the steel.
The Canova bracelet
The registered Canova design takes 16 different molds to produce. Its steel links alternate polished and satin-finished surfaces, and the butterfly clasp is built into the last center link, so the bracelet looks continuous when closed.
Palladio’s proportions
The Redentore takes its name from Andrea Palladio’s Basilica del Redentore on Venice’s Giudecca. The case and uncluttered dial draw on the church’s balanced Renaissance proportions.
The details
The Japanese NH35A automatic movement shows hours, minutes, and seconds. The 316L stainless steel case measures 36 mm across, 42.2 mm lug to lug, and 10.4 mm thick. Its compact size lets it slip easily under a shirt cuff.
An anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the dial, the crown is push-pull, and water resistance is rated at 30 meters. The screw-free case back carries an engraving of the basilica, set in a radial satin finish.
Andrea Palladio’s Renaissance church on Venice’s Giudecca gives the collection its name. The balance of its architectural forms inspired the proportions of the watch case.
No. The case and bracelet are stainless steel with rose gold-tone surface treatment on the bezel and center links. Matching hands and markers continue the color. The finish gives a two-tone appearance without making those steel components solid gold.
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale makes it highly resistant to everyday scratches. It can still be scratched by harder materials, and a hard impact can chip or crack it, especially at an edge.
TMI, part of the Seiko group, supplies the Japanese NH35A automatic movement. Wrist motion turns its rotor to wind the mainspring, and it can also be wound by hand. The watch is made in Italy using this Japanese movement.
