Venezianico Nereide Ceramica pairs a white enamel dial with a polished ceramic bezel insert in a 42 mm steel watch with a Swiss automatic movement.
The ceramic insert gives the rotating bezel a glossy surface that contrasts with the steel case. The bezel moves through 120 clicks, allowing its reference marker to be aligned in half-minute steps. Inside the bezel, the white dial is made from a painted brass base with an enamel coating, connecting the model to Venice’s decorative enamelwork.
An anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the dial, with Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova providing low-light illumination after exposure to light. The case back depicts the Nereide submarine, the Venetian-built vessel that gives the collection its name.
The Swiss Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement supplies hours, minutes, seconds, and the date. The 316L stainless steel case measures 42 mm across, 49 mm from lug to lug, and 12.5 mm thick, with a screw-down crown and 20 atm water resistance.
A stainless steel Canova bracelet completes the watch and closes with a folding clasp. Its polished and satin-finished surfaces echo the contrasts between the case and ceramic bezel.
It was the name of a submarine built in Venice between 1911 and 1913. The collection draws on that chapter of Venetian naval engineering for its maritime identity and rotating-bezel design.
The polished ceramic insert combines a glossy surface with high scratch resistance. Ceramic is brittle, however, so a hard impact can chip or crack it even when ordinary surface wear leaves few marks.
Align the bezel’s reference marker with the minute hand at the start of an interval. As the hand advances, the scale shows elapsed minutes. With 120 clicks around a 60-minute scale, each click corresponds to half a minute. The bezel measures time independently of the movement.
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale makes it highly resistant to everyday scratches. It can still be scratched by harder materials, and a hard impact can chip or crack it, especially at an edge.
