Venezianico Nereide Avventurina Automatic Watch with Blue Dial.
Named after the Nereide, a submarine of Venetian naval engineering dating to 1919, the Nereide Avventurina 39 cuts its dial from aventurine, the Venetian glass of the 17th century. Its constellation of copper fragments stands out against the deep blue, inside a flange finished with a sunburst pattern. In 316L stainless steel, the case measures 39 mm across and 10.65 mm thick.
A Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes and seconds, with no date, beneath a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Closing the case is a tungsten insert in a 120-click bezel.
The blue dial is cut to a 0.4 mm layer on a brass base, with Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova. A blue Tropic-style FKM rubber strap with a quick-release lever closes on a buckle.

What does the name Nereide refer to?
A submarine of 1919 that Venezianico describes as a marvel of Venetian naval engineering. The line is the diving collection of Venezianico, built around a rotating bezel. The brand was founded in late 2017 by the brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli while they were studying at Ca’ Foscari in Venice, and it works out of San Donà di Piave.
Will the dial look exactly like the photograph?
The pattern on it is cut from a natural material, so the veining, the figure and the distribution of light differ from one piece to the next. The color and the finish match the photograph. The grain is proper to the piece you receive.
Where does aventurine glass come from?
From Murano in the 17th century, where glassmakers spilled copper into molten blue glass and found the flakes suspended in it. The name comes from avventura, the Venetian word for a chancy operation, because the result of the pour was a matter of luck.
Why is the bezel insert made of tungsten?
Tungsten is far harder than the steel around it, so the insert holds its finish through the knocks that would dull a steel bezel. It is the bezel insert Venezianico repeats across the diving line.
How does the dive bezel turn?
In 120 clicks, so each click is half a minute and the marker lands exactly where you set it. Set the marker to the minute hand at the start of a dive and read elapsed time off the scale from there.
