The Montblanc Homage to Henri Matisse 4810 rollerball reveals the figure from Blue Nude III as its blue and white lacquered cap and barrel are turned.
Blue and white lacquer over metal wraps Blue Nude III around the cap and barrel. Turn the instrument, and the apparently abstract pattern resolves into the figure from Matisse's composition.
The rounded cap recalls the pronounced curves of his sculpture, and the white lacquered clip takes its leaflike shape from his cutout The Sheaf. Elliptical petals decorate the platinum-coated cone, while blue precious resin surrounds the white Montblanc emblem. Together, the details trace Matisse's work in color, sculpture, and paper cutouts. This Masters of Art edition is limited to 4,810 units.
Made in Germany, the rollerball uses an original Montblanc refill and closes with a screw-on cap.
