Overview
A marbled black onyx cabochon crowns the Caran d’Ache Varius Lights fountain pen, whose guilloché draws on the worlds of jewelry and watchmaking.
Lights draws on two crafts: jewelry and watchmaking. Its baguette-diamond guilloché recalls the facets of precious stones, while finer guilloché on the top detail echoes watch crowns. Silver plating and a palladium coating cover the brass body, brought to a mirror polish that emphasizes the engraved geometry. A marbled black onyx cabochon crowns the design. The Caran d’Ache logo is laser-engraved beneath the clip, with a laser-engraved hexagon at the top.
The edition is limited to 100 instruments, with the number recorded on the Limited Edition certificate. The wood presentation box has a leather-effect covering and a reversible support for one or two pens. A protective outer box, precious-stones certificate, and user guide complete the presentation.
The fountain pen has an 18k gold nib with rhodium coating and a screw-on cap. It accepts Chromatics ink cartridges or a converter for bottled ink, with a piston converter and two Idyllic Blue cartridges included. Made in Switzerland, it measures 136.3 mm capped with a barrel diameter of 12.1 mm and weighs 61 g.

Yes. The marbled black onyx cabochon is a stone, complementing the gemstone-inspired Lights guilloché. The finer engraving on the top detail takes its inspiration from watch crowns.
Where is the edition number recorded?
The number appears on the Limited Edition certificate. The pen also comes with a precious-stones certificate and user guide, in a wood box with a leather-effect covering, a reversible support for one or two pens, and a protective outer box.
Can I use bottled ink, and what is included?
Yes. The pen takes Chromatics ink cartridges or a converter for bottled ink. A piston converter and two Idyllic Blue cartridges are included.
