Hello everyone and welcome back to the Iguana Sell channel. In recent times, watches made with incredible materials have emerged, and today we are going to talk about one of them: ceramic. But no, no, no. It's not the one you're thinking of. It's a rather delicate process that must be handled by master watchmakers. Like, well, everything related to luxury watchmaking. What does this mean for us as users? It means exceptional watches, carefully crafted down to the smallest detail..
Ceramic has exceptional hardness and is particularly resistant to scratches. If we compare it to other metals, such as gold or platinum, ceramic always comes out on top. But it's not because it's harder or stronger; it's simply due to its chemical composition. Because of this and its durability, ceramic is used in sports watches and diving watches. They are highly resistant to corrosion and erosion.
The basic materials are mainly mineral powders mixed with different alloys or compounds, creating a mass that is shaped and finished at high temperatures in a furnace.
However, it does have one disadvantage. If a ceramic watch falls from a certain height with a certain impact, due to its molecular structure, it will break and shatter. It should be noted that this doesn't happen very often.
These watches are even highly resistant to ultraviolet rays, which is why master watchmakers go crazy for ceramic watches and create spectacular designs using colours according to the consumer's taste and preference. That's why they are ideal for those who want all-black watches, which you can see in the video above.
Now, if you enjoy seeing the natural aging of a watch, then a ceramic watch is not the ideal choice, as ceramic guarantees a perfect watch from the last day to the first... and even the other way around, from the first to the last.
