Powered by light
The Seiko VR42A solar quartz movement charges from light falling on the dial. It powers a 30-minute chronograph, a 24-hour subdial that tells day from night, and the date.
Biopolymer and vegan leather
The blue dial, with silver numerals and hour markers, is made of biopolymer, a plastic derived from plants rather than petroleum. The strap is blue vegan leather.
Named for LZ 129 Hindenburg
LZ 129 Hindenburg entered service in 1936. Along with its sister ship, LZ 130, it was the largest rigid airship ever built, at 804 feet (245 meters) long.
The details
The Japanese Seiko VR42A solar quartz movement powers the hours, minutes, date, 24-hour indication, and chronograph beneath a hardened K1 mineral crystal. The stainless steel case measures 41 mm across and 11 mm thick. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.
The blue vegan leather strap, 20 mm at the lugs, fastens with a pin buckle. The watch is made in Germany.

How is it powered?
By light. The Seiko VR42A solar quartz movement charges through the dial, and regular exposure to light keeps it going.
What are the dial and strap made of?
The dial is biopolymer, a plastic made from plant-based materials, and the strap is blue vegan leather, made without animal hide.
What is K1 crystal?
K1 is mineral glass that has been heat-treated to harden it, so it resists scratches and impacts better than standard mineral glass. A deep scratch can’t be polished out, though.
How does it differ from 8086-5n and 8086-2n?
8086-5n has a beige dial and a brown vegan leather strap. 8086-2n has a red dial and a red vegan leather strap. All share the 41 mm case and the Seiko VR42A.
How water resistant is it?
It’s water resistant to 50 meters, but Zeppelin advises against wearing it in the shower or tub, or swimming in the ocean with it.
