Overview

Zeppelin 100 Years Zeppelin Ed. 1 Quartz Chronograph Watch with Blue Dial.

With the layout of a pilot’s chronograph, the 100 Years Zeppelin edition marks the centenary of the first Zeppelin flight of 1900. The 100 Years Zeppelin Chronograph sets a small seconds register beside the chronograph counters. At 42 mm wide and 12 mm thick, the case is stainless steel.

A Japanese Miyota 6S11 quartz movement powers the date beneath a K1 mineral crystal.

Black numerals and indices mark the blue dial, complemented by luminous hands. The watch is delivered on a blue leather strap, secured by a pin buckle.

Questions & Answers

What does the 100 Years edition mark?

The centenary of the first Zeppelin flight, made by the LZ 1 over Lake Constance in 1900. The dials take the layout of the pilot’s chronographs of the airship era.

Where is it made?

In Germany, at the Zeppelin in-house production in Ruhla, Thuringia. The movement comes from a Swiss or a Japanese maker, and the specification identifies it.

What is K1 mineral crystal?

A hardened mineral crystal whose surface is chemically strengthened, which lifts its scratch resistance well above ordinary mineral crystal while keeping the give that stops it from shattering on a knock.

Who makes the movement?

Miyota, the movement maker owned by Citizen in Japan. Its movements are among the most widely used in the world, which keeps them simple to service and their parts easy to find.
