Venezianico Nereide Tungsteno 42 pairs a natural blue mother-of-pearl dial, whose colors shift as the watch moves, with a polished tungsten bezel.
Natural mother-of-pearl
Cut from shell, the natural blue mother-of-pearl is just 0.1 mm thick. Its layered structure produces iridescent reflections that change as you turn your wrist. Each disc is selected, shaped, and polished before the hour markers are applied. Swiss-made BGW9 Super-LumiNova, charged by daylight or artificial light, helps you read the time in the dark.
Tungsten bezel, Canova bracelet
The tungsten insert gives the 120-click rotating bezel a bright metallic border. The Canova steel bracelet repeats the polished and satin finishes of the case.
The details
The Japanese Miyota 9039 automatic movement shows hours, minutes, and seconds, with no date. The 316L stainless steel case measures 42 mm across, 49 mm lug to lug, and 11.8 mm thick.
An anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the dial, the crown screws down, and water resistance is rated at 200 meters. The bracelet closes with a folding clasp. In a nod to Venice’s naval engineering, the case back depicts the Nereide, the submarine built there in 1919 that gave the line its name.

What does the name Nereide refer to?
It was the name of a submarine built in Venice between 1911 and 1913. Its naval engineering history inspired the collection’s maritime design and rotating bezels.
Will the dial match the photograph exactly?
No. The mother-of-pearl surface has natural variations in pattern and tone, so the photograph illustrates the model rather than the exact dial you will receive.
Why use tungsten for the bezel insert?
The polished tungsten insert is highly scratch-resistant, helping it retain its finish during everyday wear. It is a separate component from the case and still needs protection from hard impacts.
How does the rotating bezel measure elapsed time?
Align the bezel’s reference marker with the minute hand at the start of an interval. As the hand advances, the scale shows elapsed minutes. With 120 clicks around a 60-minute scale, each click corresponds to half a minute. The bezel measures time independently of the movement.
How do I restart the watch after it has stopped?
Wind it by hand before putting it on. Venezianico recommends about 20–30 turns of the crown to provide an initial reserve. If the crown screws down, unscrew it before winding and secure it afterward. The rotor replenishes the reserve as you wear the watch, though light activity may not supply enough energy to keep it running.
