The 46 mm U-Boat Sommerso Damascus has a case, rotating bezel, and case back in patterned Damascus steel, and its dial carries beige and blue luminous details.
Built for the water
The watch is water-resistant to 300 meters, ready for swimming and diving.
A layered dial with a visible ruby
On the three-level black dial, brushed metal numerals, raised markers, and the main hands carry beige Super-LumiNova. Blue luminous accents pick out the 24-hour hand and the mark on the minute hand, and a visible ruby adds a red detail. Anti-reflective sapphire protects the dial.
Rooted in a 1942 naval design
The watch’s large numerals and protected left-side crown come from Ilvo Fontana’s 1942 plans for an Italian Navy watch that was never built. His grandson Italo revived the design in Lucca. On the Sommerso, the screw-down crown sits beneath U-Boat’s patented protector.
The details
The 46 mm case is Damascus steel. Six screws secure the back, and a serial-number plate is fixed to the case side.
The Swiss Sellita SW 200 automatic movement displays the hours, minutes, and seconds, along with the date and a 24-hour indication. It runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, with 26 jewels and a 41-hour power reserve. U-Boat customizes it with a skeletonized rotor.
The black vulcanized rubber strap carries the U-Boat logo in relief. It measures 22 mm at the lugs and 20 mm at the Damascus steel pin buckle. The watch is made in Italy.

How do I read elapsed time on the rotating bezel?
Align its reference marker with the minute hand at the start of an interval, then read elapsed minutes against the bezel scale. Its one-way rotation means an accidental turn can increase the elapsed time shown, rather than reduce it.
What does the 24-hour display tell me?
It distinguishes morning from evening. The main hour hand goes around the dial twice a day, while the 24-hour hand makes one full turn; read it against its own scale to tell, for example, 4 a.m. from 4 p.m.
What distinguishes the Damascus version from the standard Sommerso?
Damascus steel is used for the case, rotating bezel, and back, with a matching patterned-steel pin buckle. The pattern extends across the watch’s exterior, from the case and bezel to the back and buckle.
