Overview
The U-Boat Classico 42 Tungsteno is a smaller Classico outlined in polished tungsten, with its automatic movement on view through the back.
A three-level dial with a visible ruby
The black dial is built on three levels. Beige Super-LumiNova coats the numerals, markers, and hands, and a visible ruby adds a small red detail. Anti-reflective sapphire covers the front.

Six screws secure the case back, where a central mineral crystal window reveals the movement and U-Boat’s skeletonized rotor.
Rooted in a 1942 naval design
The Classico’s large numerals and protected left-side crown come from Ilvo Fontana’s 1942 plans for an Italian Navy watch that was never built. His grandson Italo revived the design in Lucca.
The details
The 42 mm case is stainless steel and water-resistant to 100 meters.
The automatic movement displays the hours, minutes, and seconds, along with the date and a 24-hour indication. It has 26 jewels, runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and provides a 44-hour power reserve.
The naturally aged brown leather strap is laser-cut and handmade in Tuscany, with waxed cotton stitching and a polished steel pin buckle. The watch is made in Italy.

What can be seen through the case back?
The central mineral-glass window reveals the automatic movement and its customized skeletonized rotor. Sapphire is used for the front crystal; the rear window is mineral glass.
What does the 24-hour display tell me?
It distinguishes morning from evening. The main hour hand goes around the dial twice a day, while the 24-hour hand makes one full turn; read it against its own scale to tell, for example, 4 a.m. from 4 p.m.
What gives the Classico dial its depth?
Three overlapping dial layers create the relief around the numerals and markers. A visible ruby adds a small red detail within that layered construction.
