The 46.5 mm U-Boat Darkmoon 25° SS Black celebrates the brand’s 25th anniversary in an edition limited to 300 watches, with a commemorative plaque at 6 o’clock.
Immersed in oil
Oil surrounds the dial and the Swiss Ronda 762 quartz movement, making the dial’s color look deeper and the domed sapphire crystal seem to disappear. A visible air bubble leaves room for the oil to expand or contract as the temperature changes. When the watch is off your wrist, U-Boat specifies a temperature range of 32–140°F (0–60°C).
A 25th-anniversary dial
Applied numerals and hour markers stand above the black metal dial, and beige Super-LumiNova coats them and the hands. The anniversary logo appears alongside the plaque.
Rooted in a 1942 naval design
The left-side crown comes from Ilvo Fontana’s 1942 plans for an Italian Navy watch that was never built. His grandson Italo revived the design in Lucca. On the Darkmoon, the screw-down crown sits beneath a guard.
The details
The 46.5 mm case is 316L stainless steel and water-resistant to 50 meters. A laser-engraved serial number and QR code mark the back, which uses U-Boat’s Locking Ring System for battery access.
The black vulcanized rubber strap has a raised U-Boat logo and attaches with a quick-release system. It tapers from 22 mm at the lugs to 20 mm at the stainless steel pin buckle. The watch is made in Italy.

Why does a bubble move across the dial?
The bubble is an intentional part of the oil-filled construction. It leaves room for the oil to change volume with temperature and moves as the watch changes position.
What distinguishes this anniversary edition?
It combines the 25th Anniversary U-Boat logo with a commemorative plaque at 6 o’clock and applied dial details. This reference is limited to 300 watches.
How is the strap attached?
