Overview
Timex Marlin Chronograph Tachymeter, the first chronograph Marlin, adds a racing stripe and checkered flags to a dark green dial.
Racing stripe and checkered flags
The stripe crosses the dial, and the flags decorate the 24-hour subdial at 3 o’clock. Square applied indices and luminous hands sit beneath a domed acrylic crystal.
Chronograph and tachymeter
The chronograph measures elapsed time, and the tachymeter gives average speed over a known distance. From the grandstand, you can time each lap.
The first quartz Marlin
The Marlin family dates back to the 1950s, and this model was the first quartz Marlin.
The details
The rounded stainless steel case measures 40 mm across and 13 mm thick, with a screw-down crown. A quartz movement powers the time, date, chronograph, and 24-hour counter.
The perforated brown leather strap comes from a Leather Working Group tannery. The strap measures 20 mm at the lugs and fastens with a pin buckle. Quick-release spring bars let you detach it without tools. Water resistance is rated at 50 meters, enough for light swimming. Timex advises against pressing the pushers underwater.

Does the tachymeter show miles per hour or kilometers per hour?
It works with either unit. Time a measured mile for a reading in miles per hour, or a measured kilometer for kilometers per hour. The scale converts elapsed time into speed; the distance you measure determines the unit.
Does the 24-hour counter measure 24 hours on the stopwatch?
It follows the watch’s regular time to distinguish AM from PM. It is separate from the chronograph’s elapsed-time count.

How returns work. Just let us know and we'll email you a prepaid DHL Express return label — you never have to arrange a shipment or pay anything up front. The return cost is deducted from your refund. If the piece arrived damaged or wasn't what you ordered, the return is on us.
