U-Boat Chimera Chronograph Automatic Watch with Green Dial.
Limited to 300 pieces worldwide. Through external lugs and lug screws cut to a customized key, the Chimera line closes a polished tungsten bezel onto the case back, and every series in it is limited to a fixed number of pieces. The Chimera Chronograph is powered by a Sellita SW 500 beneath a side window in smoked mineral crystal, in an edition of 300 pieces. Its stainless steel case measures 46 mm in diameter.
Beneath an optical sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, a Swiss SW 500 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes, seconds, a chronograph, date and a 24-hour indicator. A patented Crown Release System lever sits at 8:30, under a large screw-down crown cover, while the case back is closed with five screws driven into the bezel.
Green, the dial is built on two overlapping levels, the upper in painted striped metal with laser-cut numerals, indexes and counters, the lower in smoked sapphire. It comes on a leather strap, closed by a steel tongue buckle.

Why does the crown sit on the left?
It comes from a watch Ilvo Fontana drew in 1942 for the Italian naval forces, a diver whose crown sat on the left so the hands could be set from that side. His grandson Italo Fontana founded U-Boat in Lucca around that drawing, and the patented clamp over the crown is the part he added.
How do you use the chronograph?
The upper pusher starts and stops the timing hand, and the lower pusher returns it to zero. The registers on the dial carry the minutes and the hours that the central hand has counted beyond its first turn.
Why is the bezel made of tungsten?
Tungsten is far harder than steel, so a polished tungsten bezel holds its mirror finish through the knocks that would dull a steel one. U-Boat took it up as one of its own innovations, alongside the crown on the left and the patented release that frees it from its stop.
How does a 46 mm case sit on the wrist?
It is a large watch and it is built to read as one. Compare the figure against a watch you already own before you order, because the diameter is what decides this and it is the measurement a photograph flattens. A loose cuff will pass over it.
How is the edition numbered?
The series closes at 300 pieces and each case carries its own number. Once the last one is delivered the reference is finished, which is what holds the value of a numbered series over a catalog model.

How returns work. Just let us know and we'll email you a prepaid DHL Express return label — you never have to arrange a shipment or pay anything up front. The return cost is deducted from your refund. If the piece arrived damaged or wasn't what you ordered, the return is on us.
