Overview
Platinum’s Curidas Graphite Smoke fountain pen reveals the movement of its retractable mechanism through a body of translucent smoky black resin.
The mechanism is part of what you see through the translucent PMMA resin. Curidas takes its name from kuridasu, the Japanese term for extending the writing tip, and “curiosity.” Watching the parts move brings that idea to life. Platinum’s Knock introduced the retractable design in 1965, and Curidas returned to the idea in 2020.
Press the rear button to extend the stainless steel nib, then press again to retract it. At rest, the nib sits inside the Nib Pocket, where a lid and soft elastomer seal limit moisture loss in the small chamber.
Use Platinum SPSQ-400 or SPN-100A cartridges, or fill from a bottle with Converter 700A or 500A, sold separately. One blue-black cartridge is included. The box also contains a tool for attaching or removing the chrome-plated spring-steel clip.
Made in Japan, the pen measures 153 mm in length and 13.8 mm in maximum diameter, and weighs 24.0 g.

How does Curidas work without a separate cap?

Which cartridges and converters fit?

How returns work. Just let us know and we'll email you a prepaid DHL Express return label — you never have to arrange a shipment or pay anything up front. The return cost is deducted from your refund. If the piece arrived damaged or wasn't what you ordered, the return is on us.
