The Visconti Year of the Dragon fountain pen celebrates the zodiac’s dragon in engraved and enameled sterling silver, with a ruby set into its eye.
Created for the 2024 Year of the Wood Dragon, this edition celebrates the fifth animal of the Chinese zodiac, a symbol of abundance and longevity. An engraved Chinese dragon stretches across gold-plated sterling silver, surrounded by small clouds against a traditional red background associated with good fortune.
Colored enamel brings the dragon into focus, while translucent enamel leaves the etched texture of its scales visible beneath the surface. A red ruby is set into its eye.
Limited to 224 units, the edition comes in an octagonal box inspired by Chinese pagodas. A dragon engraved against a gold background carries the decoration onto the box, and a window offers a view of the pen inside.
The nib is 18k gold. Visconti’s Double Reservoir Power Filler system fills the pen with bottled ink. A transparent ring on the section shows the ink level. The cap screws into place.
Made in Italy, the pen measures 150 mm capped. The barrel is 138 mm long and 30 mm wide. It weighs 89 grams with the cap.
