The Scribo La Dotta Orefici fountain pen recalls the workshops of Bologna's goldsmiths in handcrafted multicolored resin with gold PVD details.
Goldsmiths gave Via Orefici its name. Once called Via degli Orefici, this street in Bologna's historic center housed their workshops and became an important destination for jewelry over the centuries. Scribo echoes that trade in the resin's gold tones, woven through red, black, and brown.
The cap, barrel, knob, and nib holder are handcrafted in resin, with a gold-finished clip and metal components. Orefici belongs to La Dotta, named for Bologna as 'the learned one'. Here, the city's goldsmiths take their place alongside the academic traditions behind that name.
An ebonite feed supplies the Scribo 18k gold nib. The piston filling system holds 1.42 ml of bottled ink, and the pen closes with a screw-on cap.
Made in Italy in a limited production of 219 fountain pens for this color, Orefici is presented in a natural leather and cotton case. It measures 148 mm capped with a barrel width of 16.75 mm.
