The Visconti Nikola Tesla fountain pen evokes electrical discharges in fluorescent blue and violet resin, with engravings inspired by Tesla’s coils.
Tesla’s coils inform the pen’s cylindrical body and toroidal, or ring-shaped, ends. Enameled lightning engravings evoke electrical discharges, while three rose gold-plated rings recall the coils’ copper windings: one at the center and one at each end. Palladium and rose gold details carry the tribute to Tesla’s scientific innovation through the design.
The tower-inspired display stand makes the fluorescent blue and violet resin part of the presentation. Light passes through the pen’s hollow structure, activating the fluorescence and lighting the engraved flashes with an ice-blue glow. The edition is limited to 88 units.
The 18k gold nib has a rose gold finish. Visconti’s Power Filler system fills the pen with bottled ink. The cap screws into place.
Made in Italy, the pen measures 140.2 mm capped. The barrel is 122.8 mm long and 20 mm wide. It weighs 61.5 grams with the cap and 43.1 grams without it.
