Questions & Answers

Is it water resistant?

Its water resistance to 5 atm covers splashes rain and the occasional shower; it is not intended for comfortable swimming.

Is this the same company that made the American dollar watch?

Not the same company. The New York firm went bankrupt in 1921 and was bought by the Waterbury Clock Company in 1922 for $1.5 million; that corporation is the one known today as Timex Group. The Ingersoll name was revived later in Britain and these are new watches built under it.

When did the Ingersoll name first appear on a watch?

In 1892, when Robert and Charles Ingersoll put it on a watch of their own, supplied to them by the Waterbury Clock Company.

Does it need a battery?

No, it is automatic and recharges with the motion of the wrist.

Can the strap be changed?

The silicon strap is easily swapped for another of the same lug width.

How many jewels does the movement have?

It carries 20 jewels, which reduce friction at the bearing points of the mechanism and extend its working life.

Your order arrives brand new in its original Ingersoll packaging, with all official documentation and the Ingersoll warranty card, stamped and dated by us.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It doesn't cover normal wear and tear or accidental damage — and on watches, it doesn't cover straps, bracelets, or batteries.
