Ball Engineer Master II Diver Worldtime combines a black dial with city and 24-hour scales, plus a luminous diving bezel in a 42 mm steel case.
A ring of reference cities works with a 24-hour scale to compare the time in several zones together. Each city names a location on the scale, and the 24-hour reading distinguishes day from night there. A separate unidirectional diving bezel provides an elapsed-time reference, so an interval can be timed while the world-time display remains available. The dial also shows the weekday and date.
Thirty-six sealed tritium tubes illuminate the hands, dial, and bezel without a prior charge from light. An anti-reflective sapphire crystal covers the display, and the screw-down crown closes the stainless steel case. This edition is limited to 1,000 watches. The case measures 42 mm across and 14.4 mm thick.
Inside, the COSC-certified Ball RR1501-C automatic movement powers the time and calendar displays. A sapphire case back reveals the automatic caliber. The watch is shock-resistant to 5,000 Gs and magnetically resistant to 4,800 A/m, with a case water-resistant to 30 atm.
A stainless steel bracelet closes with a folding clasp.
Read the reference cities against the 24-hour scale to compare several zones together. A conventional GMT uses an additional hand for another zone; this display gives each represented zone a named city reference. The 24-hour scale distinguishes day from night, though not every fractional-hour offset is represented.
Yes. The unidirectional diving bezel provides its own elapsed-time scale. The city ring and 24-hour scale remain the references for world time, so the two readings serve separate functions.
Thirty-six tritium tubes illuminate the hands, dial, and bezel, keeping the time and timing scales lit continuously. Tritium inside each sealed glass tube activates a luminous coating continuously, without a battery or prior exposure to light. The glow gradually fades as the tritium decays, with a half-life of about 12.3 years.
Magnetic fields can disturb a mechanical movement’s rate. The magnetic-resistance rating describes its protection against that effect. The watch is rated to 4,800 A/m; stronger magnetic fields can exceed that protection.
It passed independent chronometer testing over 15 days, in five positions and at three temperatures. The permitted average daily rate during the test is -4 to +6 seconds. This traditional test is performed before the movement is cased, so the watch’s rate in daily wear can vary.
After setting or winding, return the crown to its closed position and screw it fully into the case before contact with water. Correct closure is needed to maintain the rated water resistance.
