Ball Engineer III Endurance 1917 GMT Automatic Watch with Blue Dial.
Limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide. Engineer III is the modern Engineer: 904L steel, mu-metal magnetic protection and the Amortiser system, on cases sized for daily wear. The Endurance 1917 is powered by the RRM7337-C, a true GMT: the crown jumps the local hour hand in one-hour steps while the GMT hand and the running seconds hold, and the date wheel follows the local zone. At 41 mm in diameter and 13.15 mm thick, the case is 904L stainless steel.
The Ball RRM7337-C is COSC chronometer-certified, its hands, indices and bezel illuminated by 39 sealed glass tubes of tritium gas, each self-powered for 25 years. Around the movement, the patented Amortiser® system holds the balance through impact and magnetic protection reaches 80,000 A/m — 1,000 Gauss, contained by an inner case of mu-metal, an alloy of nickel, iron, copper and molybdenum that draws field lines around the movement.
The 39 tubes light continuously, so the watch reads the same at 3 a.m. as at noon.

What happens to the gas tubes over the years?
The 39 tubes hold tritium gas, which emits its own light through radioactive decay, continuously and on its own energy. Tritium has a half-life of 12.3 years, so the glow fades slowly. Ball rates the tubes for at least 25 years of useful reading.
What does COSC certification actually guarantee?
The movement was tested for 15 days by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres in 5 positions and at 3 temperatures, and it must hold an average daily rate between -4 and +6 seconds. The certificate covers the movement as tested, before it was cased.
What does 1,000 Gauss protect against in practice?
80,000 A/m is the equivalent of 1,000 Gauss, which covers the magnets you meet in a normal day — speaker surrounds, laptop and tablet closures, handbag clasps, induction hobs. An inner case of mu-metal, an alloy of nickel, iron, copper and molybdenum, draws the field lines around the movement.
What does the Amortiser system do?
A ring around the movement damps the shock before it reaches the gear train, and a brake holds the rotor so that an impact cannot spin it violently on its axis, which is how a shock usually damages an automatic movement.
How does the GMT hand work on this movement?
The crown jumps the local 12-hour hand forward or back in whole hours while the GMT hand and the running seconds carry on undisturbed, and the date wheel follows the local zone. You reset to a new time zone with the watch still running.
