The Ball Engineer Master II Skindiver Heritage is a 300-meter diver with a ceramic bezel and mu-metal shielding against magnetic fields.
A ceramic timing bezel
Mounted around the sapphire crystal, the ceramic bezel turns in one direction. You can use its scale to time an interval. The main hands keep showing the time, and the black dial displays the weekday and date. The watch is equally suited to a swim at the beach and a day at a desk surrounded by electronics.
Readable after dark
Luminous markings keep the bezel scale readable after dark. Sealed tritium gas tubes illuminate the hands and hour markers without needing exposure to light.
Protected against magnetism
Webb C. Ball made resistance to magnetism one of his requirements for railroad watches after the 1891 train collision at Kipton, Ohio. A mu-metal shield redirects static and low-frequency magnetic fields around the movement. Made of nickel, iron, copper, and molybdenum, it helps protect the movement’s rate. Magnetic resistance is rated at 80,000 A/m (1,000 gauss).
The details
The COSC-certified Ball RR1102-C automatic movement provides a 38-hour power reserve. COSC, the official Swiss institute that certifies chronometers, tests each movement for 15 days.
The stainless steel case measures 42 mm across and 14.6 mm thick, with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a screw-down crown. Shock resistance is rated at 5,000 Gs (5,000 times the force of gravity), and the case is water-resistant to 300 meters. A 22 mm stainless steel bracelet closes with a folding clasp.
The ceramic bezel turns in one direction outside the case, around the sapphire crystal. You can use its scale to time an interval while the main hands continue to show the time. The weekday and date also remain visible on the dial.
No. Inside each sealed glass tube, tritium activates a luminous coating. The tubes glow continuously, without a battery or any need to be charged by sunlight or a lamp. The glow gradually fades as the tritium decays, with a half-life of about 12.3 years.
A mu-metal shield redirects static and low-frequency magnetic fields around the mechanical movement. This helps keep those fields from disturbing its rate. The watch is rated to 80,000 A/m (1,000 gauss). Stronger fields can exceed that protection.
The movement passed independent chronometer testing over 15 days, in five positions and at three temperatures. The permitted average daily rate during testing is -4 to +6 seconds. The test is done before the movement is fitted into the case, so the watch’s daily rate on the wrist can vary.
After setting or winding, return the crown to its closed position and screw it fully into the case before contact with water. Correct closure of the crown and case, together with the condition of the seals, is needed for the rated water resistance. Seals age over time, so water resistance can decline unless the seals are checked and replaced. Follow Ball’s care and service instructions.
Yes, we are an Official Ball Authorised Dealer, and an authorised dealer for every brand we carry.
With over 15 years in the luxury market, we guarantee the authenticity and quality of every piece we sell.
Your order arrives brand new in its original Ball packaging, with all official documentation and the Ball warranty card, stamped and dated by us.
The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It doesn't cover normal wear and tear or accidental damage — and on watches, it doesn't cover straps, bracelets, or batteries.
