Venezianico Arsenale Calendario fits a complete calendar, a power reserve indicator, and a day-night disc into an integrated-bracelet watch.
A layered calendar dial
Concentric subdials show the day and month, and skeletonized dauphine hands point to polished ingot-shaped markers. At 6 o’clock, a rotating disc moves from day to night beneath a sapphire crescent held by two screws.
Power reserve at 12 o’clock
The power reserve hand tracks the approximately 42 hours a full wind provides. A raised section of the hand lets it clear the Venezianico cross logo without touching it.
Named for the Arsenale
The Arsenale was the shipyard of the Venetian Republic. Its specialized workshops split shipbuilding into a sequence of tasks long before the Industrial Revolution. The layered burgundy sunburst dial is built with the same sense of order, and an engraving on the case back pays tribute to the shipyard.
The details
The Japanese Miyota 9100 automatic movement powers the day, date, month, power reserve, and day-night indications.
The 316L stainless steel case measures 40 mm across and 44 mm lug to lug. It is 9.6 mm thick, not counting the 1.4 mm double-domed sapphire crystal. A knurled steel bezel frames the dial, the crown screws down, and water resistance is rated at 50 meters. Alternating satin and polished finishes continue from the case onto the integrated Canova Concept™ steel bracelet, which closes with a folding clasp.
The name comes from the Arsenale, the Venetian Republic’s shipyard. Its specialized workshops built and fitted out ships in sequence, supplying the fleet long before modern factories. The collection takes its design inspiration from that history of shipbuilding and metalworking.
It shows the day of the week, the date, and the month. The calendar follows a 31-day cycle, so it needs manual correction after shorter months.
It shows how much energy remains in the mainspring. The reading rises as the movement is wound and falls as that energy is used. With a full wind, the movement has an approximately 42-hour power reserve.
Sapphire’s hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale makes it highly resistant to everyday scratches. It can still be scratched by harder materials, and a hard impact can chip or crack it, especially at an edge.
Miyota, part of the Citizen group, manufactures the 9100 in Japan. This 9-series automatic runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour and also allows hand winding. Venezianico uses it in a watch made in Italy.
The disc follows a 24-hour cycle, showing day and night beneath a sapphire crescent. It does not track the Moon’s monthly cycle. The crescent is a fixed part of the display, held in place by two screws.
