Alpina Heritage Carrée Automatic 140 Years Watch with Black Dial.
The Heritage collection re-edits models from the Alpina archive in stainless steel under sapphire crystal. The Carrée Automatic 140 Years takes up the Art Deco spirit of the hand-wound Calibre 490 watch of 1938 in a minimalist rectangular case 39 mm long, in stainless steel, 32.5 mm across and 9.71 mm thick.
An AL-530 automatic movement powers the hours, minutes and small seconds beneath a convex anti-reflective sapphire crystal, with a screw-in transparent case back to close the case.
Black and matte, with beige period Arabic numerals and beige hands, the dial carries a sector minute track typical of the 1930s, and the hands and indexes carry a luminescent treatment. The small seconds at 6 o’clock recall vintage pocket watches, set under the original Alpina logo. The watch comes on a brown ostrich leather strap measuring 22 mm at the lugs.

Where do the Heritage designs come from?
From models in the Alpina archive, reworked with present-day materials such as a sapphire crystal. Gottlieb Hauser founded Alpina in 1883, and the brand produces and assembles its movements and watches at its manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva.
What does 140 Years refer to?
The 140 years since Gottlieb Hauser founded Alpina in 1883. The Carrée marks that history with the Art Deco styling of the Calibre 490 watch of 1938, a rectangular case and a sector dial.
How long does it run when it is not worn?
A full wind delivers about a 38-hour power reserve. Daily wear keeps the mainspring topped up, and after a longer rest in a drawer a few turns of the crown restart it.
Who makes the movement?
Alpina builds the AL-530 on a Swiss Sellita SW261 automatic base and assembles its watches at its manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, as part of the Frederique Constant group.
How does the luminescent treatment work?
The pigment on the hands and markers stores light and releases it in the dark. It is brightest just after exposure to daylight, fades gradually through the night and recharges the next time it sees light.

How returns work. Just let us know and we'll email you a prepaid DHL Express return label — you never have to arrange a shipment or pay anything up front. The return cost is deducted from your refund. If the piece arrived damaged or wasn't what you ordered, the return is on us.
